The Mustard Yellow House

I want to submit our tiny house for Tiny House Swoon.

It’s a self-contained off-grid 28ft tiny house on wheels. The framing is steel and cladding aluminium. All the inside wood is Pacific Kauri.

The kitchen is at the towbar end, stepping down to a great-room with a little wood burner. An unusual popout side section widens the room, creating a bay for a sofa. There’s a fold-down desk/table, full-height storage closet and a laundry cupboard.

Unusually for a tiny house, it has a full-size bath where it’s possible to soak while staring at the stars.

The house stands on a paddock in rural New Zealand, next to an abandoned school that is being renovated by private owners. We (Nick and Tom, married couple) have lived there for eight months with our dogs Phoebe and Connor. Outside we’ve put up simple fences to contain the dogs, planted a flower garden, and made a deck out of pallets – we call our front yard Buckingham Pallets.

A 28′ tiny house that’s off grid in rural New Zealand. More info. here.

So much to love here, like the green kitchen cabinets, the bump out in the living room, the full tub with the stained glass window over it, the double doors and the high, pitched ceilings in the loft. And your doggies are adorable!
