Does have any electricity? What is the situation with the land it’s on? Where is this home exactly? Thanks for your time!
Hi Tracy. You can find the owner’s comments at the bottom of the post. The cabin is in Northern California and he has used solar to power the home.
what is he powering with the solar panels?
I’m not sure but most likely small electronic devices.
North Carolina not California JFYI!
How can I buy one?
Please call 916.945.6698

The caption at the bottom says solar power and spring water
Is there a link to the actual listing? I cannot find it.
Hi Lis. This isn’t for sale. Tiny houses posted on the Tiny House Swoon website are simply posted to “swoon” over. On the other hand, tiny houses posted on the Tiny House Listings site are for sale! You can view them here – http://tinyhouselistings.com/index.php?s=viewmore
Awesome!!!! Ill give him 2000 for it!!! jk. but thats what i dream off all the time!
haha. not for sale. sorry. too much sweat and blood put into it to ever sell it. (plus it’s on a friends’ land). thanks for the comments. check out lloyd kahn’s new book, Tiny Homes Simple Shelter – more photos on page 33.
Not to be rude, but it’s very hard to believe that this house was built for $1000. The windows and glass door alone would cost more than $1000. Were those also scavenged?
Just because you write, “Not to be rude”, doesn’t mean it’s then “okay” to be rude. Next time you have a question, first pretend you’re a decent person and not an anonymous internet troll. Then remember your looking for information or to ask a question and you’re speaking to human being.
Like this. “Hey friend, I have to assume you scavenged the doors and windows, because those alone would cost at last a $1000. What building supplies did you actually have to buy to complete the home?”
Now you might get an answer, rather than calling the guy a liar.
You tell ’em Josh! Anytime they start with “I don’t mean to be rude” they always mean to be rude! If you just drive around you can salvage things people are throwing out. But when you approach people with things you need you have to remember not be RUDE! Very cool cabin!
Personally, I think you’re over-reacting Miss Crawford!! We can all look for ways “to be offended.” If that makes you feel better, I guess, go ahead. He didn’t say anything that was really rude. Just wanted to know where items were acquired.
so if you don’t wanna be rude, why don’t you just try not being rude…or is that even possible?
I could see this only costing $1000 for a resourceful owner/builder. There is so much salvageable wood and other materials in the world if you look for it and people taking out perfectly good materials like windows and doors when they remodel and update. If you look closely, the siding is the inside walls – this would not be so cozy for year-round use in a colder climate, but in Northern California it probably is with a stove. Very no-frills and functional without the expense of much detail in the finishes.
Very charming – I guess there must be an outhouse somewhere, because the photo tour doesn’t seem to include a potty 😉 I would guess there is a BBQ of some sort outside as well, as that scrumptuous stove doesn’t look like you can cook on it. As a getaway – excellent! ♥
We built a tiny house and have had some mold issues- I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas how to avoid this problem.
Might be too close to the ground and moisture is coming up, or you have a leak. Either way mold comes from excess moisture. Reduce that and you may reduce the mold. Vinegar is a very good safe solution to remove and limit further growth. couple of teaspoons to a litre of water, and a scrubbing brush.
Thanks i’m gonna try this trick in my tiny bathroom that has no vent!
Really charming and looks so usable! Do you live in it full-time? Do you have any information about that beautiful wood stove? Are there any more pictures? I really like your cabin. 🙂

12ftx12ft ?? One of my favorites yet!
I love this house, it is simple yet beautiful. I’m making my own modeled after this one but on the edge of a cliff on my property in the laurentians in Quebec Canada
