Smith Cabin Delivered

A lovely tiny cabin made from old timbers and delivered to its new home.

I delivered the new cabin yesterday. Six hours of forklift time. Lots of jockeying, but we made it into a tight, tight space.

The desk is a door from an old Hutterite barn. The posts are hand hewn oak from NY. The floor from sunken logs recovered from the Blackfoot River in Missoula when the damn was removed.

More Tiny House Swoon photos here. Built by Charles Finn.

I was a little confused by picture 6 – at first I thought that water got in then I realised that it didn’t seem like water – what is it? Glass? Some kind of resin?
