Very nice house with a good layout. Like the separation of kitchen and bath and the fact that it has a bathroom sink.
It looks like a lived-in house and not a showplace. Nice work!
Really pleased to see this one. You have the kitchen almost exactly how I want mine so I am glad to see it done before I attempt it. It looks do-able. Almost same layout too only I will have a downstairs bedroom (a single bed with desk) and the bathroom beyond that, also with composting toilet. So a few metres extra length. Looks great. I hope you are happy and content.
I know these pals! They actually built it in Colorado and towed it to Portland. I would be pooping my pants during that whole trip. The loft area is super spacious, too. They did an amazing job!
Hi! I would love to know more about this specific tiny house, since I just love it am trying to figure out how to draw some plans out of this pictures. It would help alot to know some more deails. Did you say you know them? Would like to ask them some things about their Lovely tiny house!! <3 🙂
The one you see in a lot of photo’s(& here) is a Dickinson Marine, Newport Propane (LPG) Boat Heater / Fireplace, P9000 There is a higher output P12000 but for most uses this is the one. It is a classic long lasting high quality propane heater so it is not cheap at just under $800. It does include the stainless steel double wall vent pipe & flue cap and a stainless steel wall mounting plate. You will also need a long enough propane hose with the right size fittings to connect to a propane tank(usually a rv/gas grill type 20 lb). If you don’t already have a propane pressure regulator like there is for grill burners,, you will need one of those too.
In the photo above it looks like the heater has a piped in natural gas line from the house. In order for the heater to function well with natural gas it would have to be ordered specifying natural gas & the gas pressure so the burner orifice’s can be sized appropiately. That modification could cost as much as $100 but well worth it because natural gas is quite a bit cheaper than propane gas.
There are other small vented propane heaters, vented wood or vented solid fuel burning heaters that will work too. Some even have the option of heating water which can be used both for hot water & heating.
I forgot to say that the Dickinson propane heater has a small fan which run’s on 12 volts. that can be from a typically car battery(don’t let it go too low before recharging), deep cycle solar battery or a small rechargable battery setup. Just make sure it is 12 Volts. If you are where you have AC Power then just use a converter to 12 Volts.
This is a sweet home.

I would feel safer with a rail on the loft!
What a perfect space!

What is that heater called? I have been looking for them online and can’t find them or the name of them.
It’s a Dickenson marine heater.

I’d prefer a heater that doesn’t stick out from the wall. There are many other more practical models.
Favorite one I’ve seen so far
