Our home for just about a year now – 36 acres of forest surrounding a 4 acre meadow in northern california. My partner Robert and I are creating an experimental permaculture farm.
We have copious amounts of cold, gravity-flow spring water, a very old and equally neglected orchard, a few solar panels, a dog and five somewhat terrorized cats, two pigs, 23 chickens, a Jersey cow (and soon calf) two bee hives, a bunch of very sharp hand tools (scythes are a favorite), a 170 square foot cabin we call home (until we build the “real house”), an oft used and much loved wood cook stove, lots of energy, and so many ideas that we’ll probably never birth all the things we dream up…..but we keep on going, one step at a time.
