Hi there!

We’d like to submit our tiny house for consideration. Love your site and have been following it for years!

“A 26’ Tumbleweed Cypress (around 250 square feet) located in the Virginia countryside.”

More info. Appalachian Tiny.

Nice house. Very inviting. But the Buddha statue should always be placed highest – here the top shelf. Else one is showing contempt for the qualities of the Buddha, or one does not know much about buddism. I assume it is the latter since most buddhists know 😉

The Buddha was non materialistic and didn’t put much stock into ritual. He wouldn’t have given a crap where his statue was placed and probably would have been more shocked to discover he even had a statue to begin with. Remember the foot? It’s a nice THOW. Very well done and livable.

It would depend upon which branch of Buddhism you adhere to. Although, generally speaking, respect would dictate the higher location.

Absolutely gorgeous and, for the size, it amazingly has pretty much all my mandatories (assuming there’s a toilet in there). I would probably have used some of the space for more storage and fewer books and bric-a-brac, but that’s me. Also, I worry about the sweet doggy. I probably would have put steps to the upstairs that the dog could have negotiated.

Shenphen Drolma, are you related to Lama Shenphen Drolma? Your very civil observation of how to correctly display a religious symbol important to you is appreciated. And we can all agree this is a charming, well-thought out TH. It’s clear that the concept of THs goes very well with Buddhism.

    Gorgeous, love the kitchen!

Is it just me or are all THOWs starting to look more or less the same? I get that in limited space there is only so much you can do, but come on! L-shaped kitchen next to bathroom, with loft area above.
Not that I don’t like this home or any others with that layout, of course.
And I also like that they made the bathroom wet (something I don’t mind) to fit a washer/dryer. Good choice in my opinion.
